Invest in transformational change for an entire community! Your commitment meets large-scale needs for every child at the education center. Education Center Sponsorship is $250 per month.
In 2011, Back2Back opened an Education Center in Jos, Nigeria to serve orphans from the Kisayhip Village. The Education Center addresses the growing struggle in Nigeria to educate children within an inconsistent educational system. For Back2Back, it provides a gateway into the children's lives and an investment into their future, as we believe that education is the key to overcoming poverty. The Education Center is a supplemental after-school program that offers additional training to primary and secondary school students in reading, math, English, and Christian studies. The Education Center offers two separate programs - one for primary students called Igmin Kibe and one for secondary students called the Kisayhip Youth Development Program. Currently, there are twenty-one primary students and twenty-five secondary students enrolled in the programs. Back2Back provides for the children in the program to attend a local private school, as the area public schools are subpar. Back2Back staff, two teachers, two community developers, and one administrator run the Education Center. Once the children graduate from Igmin Kibe they enter our Youth Community Development Program where they receive private school education and tutoring through junior high and high school. This program was started by a group of local youths wanting to make a difference in their community by living moral lives and helping the orphans and widows in their village. The program includes a Bible study, mentoring, time of worship, and tutoring for the students.
