The directors of Rukuba House of Refuge feel called to provide a place of shelter for orphaned and vulnerable children. They founded Rukuba House out of their faith in God and confidence that He would provide. In 2012, they were ready to accept their first child; they now care for eight children. They envision their home to be a place of permanent foster care, where they raise the children alongside their daughters in a family setting. The setting for Rukuba House is rural and wide open for children to run, climb, and explore. Additional caregivers in the home create a strong family atmosphere where the children can express their needs and trust they will be met. Sponsorship funds help provide for school fees and books, school transportation, and maintenance of the home.
