Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world. The official language is English, though there are over 500 languages spoken across the country. The average lifespan in Nigeria is 55 years. About 50% of the population lives in severe poverty. The poverty level greatly affects education. Many children do not have access to quality education. Nigerians live with a great sense of community. There is a strong desire to care for one another. Back2Back began working in Nigeria in 2007 with the goal of coming alongside the community to care for the orphaned and vulnerable children living there.
