Douglas Children’s Home opened in 1967 when Wyman Pylant Sr. and his wife moved to Monterrey from Texas to open an orphanage and a Bible college. Back2Back first started working with this home in 1997 and is now the primary source of their support. Douglas Children’s Home was the first home Back2Back partnered with and is located in close proximity to the Back2Back campus.
The children spend their free time playing soccer, reading, listening to music, playing instruments, and swimming. Back2Back built a church at Casa Hogar Douglas on a hill overlooking the grounds. The church is attended by children from the home, as well as families from the community. Since Sunday is visiting day, the church serves as a gathering spot, providing the children with an opportunity to invite any existing family members to attend with them.
