Bethany Children's Home

In 2000, Wayne and Nina Flemming, an American couple from Texas who had been living in Mexico as missionaries, decided to start a children’s home with the help of “Misiones de Mexico”. At the time, they opened Bethany Children’s Home to just six children.  As it quickly grew, they began praying God would bring another couple to help by serving as the directors. In 2007, Daniel and Veronica de Leon answered their prayers and became the directors of the home, where they continue today.  In 2010, Back2Back began working with Bethany Children’s Home.


Bethany’s vision is to create leaders and to raise the children in a healthy family-style atmosphere. The directors and children are very involved in the local church. The children enjoy playing sports, especially soccer, and playing musical instruments. There is a river located close to the home that the children love to swim in during the summer.
